Mrs. Sharon Swank Obituary

Mrs. Sharon Maxine Johnson Swank, 67, Abingdon, Illinois passed away at 7:00pm Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Allure of Lake Story Nursing Home.

Sharon was born March 28, 1954 in Galesburg the daughter of Loren E. and Eva L. (Bell) Johnson. She married Gary N. Osborne, Sr. in 1972 in Rio, Illinois. She later married Roy L. Swank on June 18, 2004 in Abingdon.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Roy of Abingdon; her children, Shelley M. (Trenton Bailey) Osborne, Gary N. (Michele Roller) Osborne, Jr., Justin Swank all of Abingdon, Kirsten Erwin of Galesburg, Breanna Patterson of Ohio, Felisha Riley of Peoria, Illinois and Trent Swank of Galesburg; two brothers, Otis Johnson of Wausau, Wisconsin and Michael Johnson of Galesburg; five brothers-in-laws, Roger Swank, Mike (Patty) Swank and Jeff Swank all of Abingdon, Steve Paszkiet of Quincy, Illinois and Kevin Magee of Raritan, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, , Debbie Johnson of Rockfall, Illinois and Theresa and Bill Herlein of Muscatine, Iowa; she was a proud grandmother of twenty four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.  Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her twin girls, Sheryl M and Sheila M. Osborne; four brothers, Carl, twins Joseph and Johnny and Larry Johnson.

Sharon graduated from Winola High School in 1972. She worked as a classroom assistant for KCCDD for many years. She later worked as a cook for the Admiral/Maytag Corporation and the Lantern Restaurant in Knoxville, Illinois. Sharon was the editor for the Midwestern Country Music Association and listening to any band her son currently was playing in. She enjoyed picnics and bird houses. One of her favorite pastimes was thrift shopping and going to yard sales. Sharon loved to garden, make crafts and collect pink ribbon memorabilia

Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Abingdon American Legion Post #381. Visitation will follow services until 7:00 pm. Sharon’s wishes were to be cremated and buried next to her infant twin girls in Rio Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Abingdon Chapel to assist the family with funeral expenses.
