Mrs. Shirley I. Canfield, 88, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 4:25 pm Thursday, September 16, 2021, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center Galesburg.

She was born August 2, 1933, in Rock Island, Illinois the daughter of James and Julia (Hillis) Richardson. She married Robert Canfield in 1951 in Jacksonville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1992.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Rich (Shelly) Canfield, Thomas (Denise) Canfield and Kipton (Becky) Canfield all of Galesburg; one daughter, Jackie Potts of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chris, Nikki, Ashley and Sarah and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Walt, Clinton and Harrey Richardson and two sisters, Phyllis and Anna.

Shirley worked as an assembler for 30 years for the Admiral/Maytag Corporation, retiring in 1995. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Cremation will be accorded with burial next to her husband in Silent Home Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
