Mrs. Virginia S. (Abell) Knutson

Mrs. Virginia S. Knutson, 77, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully November 23, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Virginia was born November 1, 1947, in Galesburg the daughter of James and Gladys (Stern) Abell. She married James Edward Knutson on July 29, 1967 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Tim Knutson of Galesburg and Chris Knutson of North Liberty, Iowa; a brother, James (and Sylvia) Abell of Zion, Illinois; three grandchildren, Kayla, Elisabeth and Justin and one great grandchild, Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Virginia graduated from Galesburg High School in 1965. She owned and operated Card-N-Camera in Elgin, Illinois. She loved flowers, coloring, watching television and shopping. Virginia was a member of the former East Main Congregational Church in Galesburg.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will follow visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
