Ms. Martha Schultz

Ms. Martha Schultz, 94, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg. 

She was born September 2, 1927 in Breslau, Silesia, Germany to Friedrich and Melidja (Rohde) Schultz. 

Surviving is her son, Walter Schultz of Galesburg, a grandson, Augustjn Schultz, and three sisters of Germany.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. 

Martha was raised in Germany during WWII and fled her home town to Hamburg.  She arrived in the United States in 1951.  She lived in Chicago, Illinois where she became a nurses aide and an in home caretaker for 20 years.  She retired in 1998.  Martha moved from Chicago area to Galesburg in 1999.  She participated in local in-home, weekly Bible Studies up until the time she entered Heartland Care Center.  She was a member of a non-denominational Christian fellowship.  She enjoyed traveling across the United States and Germany.  She also enjoyed gardening. 

Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel.  Ministers Jon Knochenmus and Brian Wagler will officiate.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
