Nettie "Jane" Ledford

79, of Galesburg, formerly of Little Swan Lake, died at 7:32 AM Thursday May 8, 2008 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born April 28, 1929 in Herman, IL the daughter of Amos Arthur and Orah Alma Rice Grice. She married Raymond Neal Ledford. He died September 30, 2005. She is survived by a nephew, Andy (and Patty) Grice of Galesburg, a niece, Becky (and Tom) Legge of Galesburg, a nephew, Roger (and Sandy) Scannell of Galesburg, another niece, Sheryl Spencer of Florida, several great nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Iva Grice of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Harold Grice and Claire Grice. She worked as a billing clerk for several trucking companies in the Chicago area for 17 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. She graduated from Avon High School in 1947. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of the Avon Methodist Church. She enjoyed golf and gardening. She has lived in Galesburg since 2005, prior to that she lived at Little Swan Lake, near Avon for 21 years. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 AM Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Abingdon Cemetery. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Prairieland Animal Welfare Center.
