Nicholas Dominick Russo

62, of 406 Davies St. died at 1:22 am Friday, August 8, 2003 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1940 in Trenton, New Jersey to Joseph and Helen Gudepski Russo. He was raised in Abingdon by his Uncle and Aunt, John and Ruth Palmerio. He married Mary Jo Batson on November 16, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda (and Doug) Hurt of Abingdon and Barbara (and Kevin) Shepler of Pekin; two granddaughters, Dominique Jo Shepler and Nikki Laren Hurt; one brother, Joseph (and Tina) Russo of Galesburg; one sister, Nancy Panzitta of Trenton, NJ; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his Uncle and Aunt who raised him, one brother, Kenneth Russo and one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Hurt. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1959. He worked at the former Briggs Manufacturing Company in Abingdon for forty years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Galesburg. Services will be at 10:00 am Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 é
