78 of London Mills died at 6:51am Friday, June 27, 2008 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1929 in Table Grove, IL to Charles and Rosa Chenoweth Weber. He married Vere Bethene Ulm on March 18, 1950 in London Mills. Norm is survived by his loving family, his wife, Bethene, two sons, Craig J. Weber of Galesburg and Robert D. Weber of Edwards, a daughter, Julia A. (and Richard) Witherell of Abingdon, three grandchildren, Chans Weber, Cassie (and Gary) Beck and Drew Witherell, a great grandson, Carter Beck and a sister, Charlena (and Leon) Dierdorff of Sebring, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norm had lived most of his life in London Mills. He graduated from London Mills High School in 1947. He worked as a machinist at the former Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for over 42 years retiring on September 1, 1989. He had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed stateside in Baltimore, MD and Washington DC and was a member of the Counter Intelligence Core (CIC) 116th. Norm enjoyed fishing and loved all sports. He was an avid Chicago Cub fan and Chicago Bear fan also enjoyed bowling. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon and Mr. Phillip Ulm will officiate. Burial will be in East Midway Cemetery near London Mills. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the London Mills Fire and Ambulance Service.
