Nydia Marie Skinner Morris

96 of Abingdon died at 3:40 am Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on January 8, 1913 near Vandalia, IL, a daughter of John and Matilda "Tillie" (Emert) Skinner. She married Frank H. Morris on March 25, 1930 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Nydia is survived by her son, Ervin (and Evelyn) of Knoxville, IL and a daughter, Betty (and Jim) Hook of Abingdon, IL; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Clampitt of Abingdon, IL. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm east of Abingdon for several years. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
