Opal L. Peck

79 of 105 W. North St. Abingdon died at 6:07 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born March 28, 1924 in Bald Bluff, IL. to Jesse and Ida Bryant Toops. She married Doren Peck on October 24, 1941 in Kahoka, MO.. He preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter, Donna (and Mike) Woodward of Abingdon; three sons, Terry (and Elaine) Peck of Prophetstown, Kenneth (and Barbara) Peck of Abingdon, Donald Booker of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Roy Toops of Knoxville and one sister, Erma Ware of New Albany, IN.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She had lived in Abingdon most of her life. She was a homemaker and had also worked at the former Blue Bell Manufacturing Company in Abingdon. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the Abingdon Cemetery with Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Avon Nursing Home activity department
