Orah A. Way

100, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon, died at 10:13 pm Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Care Center. She was born December 8, 1904 near Hermon to Charles Edwin and Nancy Campbell Jones. She married Harley C. Way on April 26, 1924 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1970. Surviving are one daughter, Lois (and Carl) Howerter of Mt. Aukum, CA; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She had lived in Abingdon since 1921. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Blue Bell Manufacturing Company in Abingdon. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church, where she had served as church secretary, was a member of the Lydian Sunday school class and was involved in several circles in the church. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Burial in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 é
