Patricia Simpson Obituary

68 of Abingdon, died at 11:27 am Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on March 31, 1937 in Galesburg to William "Bid" and Evelyn Holeman Andrews. She married Ronald D. Simpson on December 13, 1958 in Abingdon. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Wendy (and Randy) Thomas of Abingdon; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; three brothers, Chuck Andrews of Tucson, AZ, Terry (and Melody) Andrews of Delong and Fred Andrews of Abingdon; one sister, Janice (and Don) Embry of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy Simpson. She had lived in Abingdon all her life and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955. She graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in 1957. She was a self employed beautician for 40 years and also worked at the former Admiral Corp. in Galesburg. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was a past Cub Scout Den Mother and a member of the class of "55" reunion committee. She enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Raymond McLaren and Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to Care Center of Abingdon Resident Activity Fund or Community Hospices of America.
