Patricia L. Staley

76 of 8506 East Young Road, London Mills, died at 6:50 am Friday, April 18, 2008 at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg. She was born on April 8, 1932 in Abingdon, a daughter of Dale and Carrie Ross Gillenwater. She married William B. Staley on April 11, 1958 in Galesburg. He survives. Also surviving is a son, William (and Denise) Staley, of Galesburg; a daughter, Joetta (and Bruce) Pedersen of Galesburg; a grandson, Brad (and Tiffany) Sandy of Galesburg; three brothers, Don (and Sandy) Gillenwater of Galesburg, Dick (Kathleen) Gillenwater of Winston Salem, NC and Jim (and Jean) Gillenwater of Jackson, TN; two sisters, JoAnne ( and Ron) Tully of Lakewood, CA and Gale (and Ron) Dodge of Manteno, IL. She graduated from Galesburg High School and had worked in the Dietary Department at St. Mary's Hospital, when the hospital was located on South Cherry St. She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping other people. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 pm Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to London Mills Ambulance and Fire Department, Community Hospices of America or a charity of the donor's choice.
