72,of 904 Palmer St., Abingdon died at 9:59 pm Monday, February 2, 2009 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center ER in Galesburg. He was born on August 22, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of Peter C. and Josephine Glock Potenziani. He married Patricia Malone Ritchey. Pete is survived by his wife, Pat; three daughters, Pam Potenziani of Galesburg, Angela Potenziani and Tina Potenziani both in North Carolina; three sons, Brian Ritchey of Azle, Texas, Peter Potenziani, Jr. of Syracuse, NY and Anthony Potenziani of Pittsburgh, PA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Nick Potenziani and Brad Ritchey, and a sister. He grew up in Pittsburgh and later served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis. He had also lived in Wisconsin, Texas and in Abingdon, IL since 1992. He was an owner/operator over the road truck driver, retiring in October of 2008. He was of the Catholic Faith. Pete's hobbies included fishing and golf. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers win the Super Bowl this past Sunday. Cremation will be accorded. Private burial will be at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In Pete's honor, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice in care of Mrs. Pat Potenziani, 904 Palmer St. Abingdon, IL 61410.
