Ralph E. Reeder

99 of 207 N. Cherry St. Abingdon, died at 10:14 pm Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. He was born August 12, 1905 in Colchester to John Albert and Sarah Buckley Reeder. He married Eva Shelts on February 22, 1930 in Rushville. Survivors are his wife and two sons Donald G. (and Roberta) Reeder of Galesburg and James (and Judy) Reeder of Sanford, North Carolina, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His parents, four sisters and five brothers preceded him in death. He farmed in Schuyler and McDonough counties for 40 years, retiring in 1972. He moved to Abingdon in 1973. He was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church and a fifty-year member of the Illinois Farm Bureau. Funeral Services will 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hinchliff- Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. Burial will be in Brooklyn Cemetery in Schuyler County. Memorials may be made to Abingdon United Methodist Church or the Brooklyn Cemetery Fund.
