Randy L. Hastings

Mr. Randy L. Hastings, 65, of Abingdon, Illinois passed away unexpectantly at 3:12 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025.

He was born August 21, 1960 in Galesburg to Clifford and Georgia (Cunningham) Hastings. He married Peggy Rutledge and together they had two children. He later spent the past 25 years with his partner in life, Sonita Siedel.

Randy is survived by his life partner, Sonita, a son, Casey, two sisters, Jana (Dave) Singleton and Kathy Denny, two nephews, Jake Myers and Nathan Denny, and his beloved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Tiffany, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Myers.

He attended Abingdon Schools and worked at Maytag and Dick Blick. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends, family, and his beloved cats. He also was an avid sports lover and was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears.

As Randy requested, cremation will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Abingdon, Illinois. In Randy’s honor, please attend wearing your favorite sports attire. Memorials may be made to Serendipittys Sanctuary of Hope or Cats N’ Around Animal Rescue.
