Raymond "Ray" Neal Ledford

85, 625 Beecher Ave. Galesburg, formerly of Little Swan Lake near Avon died at 8:45 am Friday, September 30, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg. He was born October 9, 1919 in Whitfield County, Georgia to Doke and Sula Bowers Ledford. He married Jane Grice on April 6, 1956 in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are three nieces, Wanda Dooley of Resca, Georgia and Becky (Tom) Legge of Galesburg, Sheryl (Tom) Spencer of Alva, FL; one nephew, Andy (Patty) Grice of Galesburg; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He was a truck driver and dispatcher for Dohrn Transfer in Galesburg and Chicago and later for Signal Delivery in Chicago retiring in 1984. After retiring he and his wife moved to Little Swan Lake near Avon where they resided for 21 years and recently moved to Galesburg He earned his GED from Carl Sandburg College in 1989. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and storyteller. He served in the Army from 1937 é
