, 87, of Indianola, Iowa formerly of Abingdon, died at 6:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on August 27, 1915 in Abingdon to S. Kingsley and Cecil Crotts Andrews. He married Evelyn M. Stewart on July 7, 1936 in Osage, Iowa. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1998. Surviving are one daughter, Margann (Roger) Nebergall of West Des Moines, Iowa; two granddaughters, Joy White of Bethleham, GA. And Holly Gillespie of Lawrenceville, GA.; three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He lived most all his life in Abingdon where he graduated from high school in 1933. He worked as manager of the former Stewarts IGA Store in Abingdon and later as a mail carrier for the Abingdon Post Office. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 and a member of Abingdon Masonic Lodge #185 AF & AM. Cremation was accorded. Committal services will be at 10 am Monday at the Abingdon Mausoleum with Eleanor Landon officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #381. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to John Mosser Public Library in Abingdon.
