Rita Joan Andrews

56 of Abingdon died at 12:45 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at her home. She was born August 27, 1949 in Monmouth to Jess and Roberta "Betty" Johnson Lydic. She married Fred Andrews, Sr. on February 18, 1978 in Abingdon. He survives. Also surviving are her parents of Avon; two sons, Tim (and wife Michelle) Boyd of Broken Arrow, OK and Fred Andrews, Jr. of Abingdon; three daughters, Jody Boyd of Galesburg, Tina (and husband John) Reinhardt of Princeton and Jackie (and husband Brian) Sult of Ankeny, IA; one brother Ron (and wife Mary) Lydic of Little Swan Lake, Avon; one sister, Gloria (and husband Woody) Bradford of Georgetown, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Courtney and Caitlyn Boyd, Jacob, Josh & Jamie Reinhardt and Mackenzie Sult. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jess and Viola Lydic and J.L. and Nellie Johnson. She graduated from Avon High School in 1967 and later from the Burlington Beauty Academy. She was self employed as a hairdresser in Abingdon for 28 years. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She enjoyed spending all the time she could with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was very active in the M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) Society. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at the Abingdon Christian Church. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
