Robert Bob Leo Fishel

67 of 506 N. Monroe St. died at 5:24 pm Monday, October 9, 2006 at his home. He was born on May 4, 1939 in Vermont, IL to William Leo and Irma Elizabeth Williamson Fishel. He married Joyce Simpson on June 14, 1958 in Abingdon. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Keith (and Denise) Fishel of Williamsfield; three daughters, Kelly Fishel of Gladstone, Laurie (and Donny) Diehl of Abingdon and Teresa (and Rick) Hills of Abingdon; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Joan Allen. He grew up in the Vermont area where he attended schools. He moved with his parents to Abingdon at the age of seventeen. He worked at the Abingdon Pottery for almost 40 years as a caster. He was an active member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed fishing and hunting, talked to friends on the CB radio, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed time in his garage. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Athletic Booster Club.
