Roberta "Bobbie" Marie Lankford

69 of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon went to be with the Lord at 4:46 am Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born January 11, 1936 in Bushnell to Andrew and Bertha Faler Day. She married Robert Cozad and they had three daughters, Vickie Edwards and Christine (and husband Bjorn) Ericson both of Galesburg, Deborah (and husband Steven) Rehn of Plano, TX. . She later married Kenneth "Bud" Lankford on November 23, 1974 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1991. Also surviving are her mother and stepfather, Bertha and Ronald Burgess of Abingdon; three sisters, her twin sister Alberta "Maggie (and husband Leanelle) Hanson of Knoxville, Gloria Ratajczak of Abingdon, Vonneda Johnson of Bushnell; two brothers, James (and wife Norma) Day of Galesburg and Samuel Burgess of Abingdon. She was a loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her father. She was a member and past president of Professional Business Women in Abingdon. She was an interior decorator and owned and operated the former Abingdon Upholstery and Creative Upholstery in Galesburg. She was actively involved in Jubilee Christian Center in Austin, TX while she lived there and was one leaders of the children ministry. She enjoyed her crafts, her flowers and landscaping, and decorating her home. Funeral service will be at 11:30 am Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
