Ronald Lee Coe

Mr. Ronald Lee Coe, 68, passed away peacefully at 11:59 pm Saturday, September 3, 2022, surrounded by his family at home.

Ron was born May 11, 1954, in Patterson, New Jersey the son of Robert A. and Alice M. (Marshall) Coe, Sr. He married Julie Kalpackes on August 19, 1972, in Galesburg, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julie of Galesburg; his children, Allison (Doug) Atwater of Knoxville, Illinois and Jayson Coe of Galesburg; his brother, Robert A. Coe, Jr. of Galesburg and four grandchildren, Jack and Brooklyn Atwater, Trinity Greer and Madeline Coe. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Dennis and an infant sister, Barbara.

Ron had worked for Coca-Cola Company and was a manager for the gas company for several years. What Ron was really known for was being the fix-it-guy. He was a man that specialized in all trades, especially propane gas. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix and his family always knew to call him for help. Ron fulfilled one of his live long dreams of owning a Corvette and enjoyed rides with Julie.

Ron’s wishes were to be cremated with a burial at a later date in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund at a later date.
