Shirley A. Moon

69 of Abingdon, died at 10:15 pm Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at her home. She was born June 29, 1936 in Monmouth, IL to Regis and Bertie Miller Lefort. She married Billy Lusk on July 17, 1953. She later married Louis Moon on November 17, 1976 in Geneseo, IL. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Mark (and Terry) Lusk of Galesburg; one daughter, Debbie Hobby of Hermon; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond (and Doris) Lefort of Orlando, FL, Alford (and Mary) Lefort of Monmouth and Richard (and Shelba) Lefort of Huntley, IL; three sisters, Ann Mitchell of Galesburg, Joan (and Bob) Ryner of Monmouth and Margie (and Rick) Merillat of Lilburn, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Hillard, Clifford, Harold, Wilford and Willard Lefort. She grew up in Monmouth and attended Monmouth schools. She had lived in Abingdon since 1978. She worked at the former Gale Products in Galesburg, Monmouth Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church and previously belonged to the Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Berwick Baptist Church. Rev. Melody Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to Berwick Baptist Church.
