Stanley E. Sanders

58 of 908 N. Ellison St. died at 5:30 am Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. He was born on March 15, 1948 in Moline, IL to Stanley Horace and Thelma Jean Bahr Sanders. He married Vicky Hepner Hendricks on March 29, 1989 in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are daughters, Robin (and Gregory) Venvertloh of Abingdon, Susan (and Frank) Schneider of Roseville, Ellyn Hendricks of Abingdon, Shawn Hendricks of Houston, TX, Lucinda (and DJ) Cantrell of Creve Couer, IL, Malissa Sanders of Wataga; a son, Scott (and Suzi) Sanders of Camp Hill, PA; a brother, Ralph Sanders of Silvis; 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. He graduated from United Township High School. He had lived in Abingdon the past 30 years. He was a truck driver for CPS and later owned and operated the S & V Cycle Shop in Abingdon. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 in Abingdon. He was an avid bowler, golfer and a softball coach. He also enjoyed playing poker. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday, February 5, 2007 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, February 4, 2007 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.
