Steven Paul Morss

55 of 101 E. North St, died at 12:42 am Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Galesburg Cottage Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on October 1, 1952 in Galesburg, IL to Fred and Ethel Plasters Morss. Steve is survived by his parents Fred and Ethel Morss of Abingdon; a sister, Chris (and Darrel) Punke of Eureka, IL; a niece, Laura Punke and a nephew, Jason Punke who were the light of his life and aunts and cousins. He had lived in Abingdon all his life. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1970. He had worked the past two years as a janitor at St. Mary's Square Living Center in Galesburg and enjoyed all the residents there. Steve was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Knox County Sportsman's Club. He attended many school sporting events and also use to enjoy bowling. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Prairieland Animal Welfare Center.
