, 75, a resident of Galesburg Terrace Nursing Center, formerly of Abingdon died at 5:15 pm Saturday, February 15, 2003 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. He was born October 2, 1927 in Thompsonville, Il. To Elza and Nellie Howard Plasters. He married Melba M. McDermet on May 3, 1947 in Leavenworth, KS. Surviving are one son, Robert (Holly) Plasters of Abingdon; one daughter, Sandra (Roger) Timmons of Abingdon; one sister, Ethel (Fred) Morss of Abingdon; 3 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 2 step granddaughters, 5 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He had lived most of his life in Abingdon. He was a general laborer. He served in the US Navy during WW II and also in the Korean Conflict.
