Vilmos Branyik

91 of 1556 Draper Lane died at 10:29 am Thursday, September 27, 2007 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1916 in Cata, Hungary. He married Karen Joyce Hall on March 2, 1956 at St. Mary's of the Woods in Princeville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Matt in Colorada and Vincent in Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren; a sister, Edith Branyik of Komarno, Slovakia. He graduated from the Peter Pasmany University of Budapest. He was a Physician and had a private practice in Zion, IL before retiring near Abingdon in 1978. He then began working at the State Research Hospital in Galesburg. He was a past member of several medical societies. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded following the mass. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
