Virignia L. Kaser

64 of Abingdon, died at 4:05 pm Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. She was born on December 7, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter of Mack and Lucille Rentz Whetsell. She married George William Walters in 1959 in Charleston, SC. She later married Gary Kaser in 1974 in Knoxville, IL. Virginia is survived by her children, Belinda (and Ed) Swearingen of Abingdon, IL, Cile (and partner, Terri Decker) Flicek of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Will Walters of Oneida, IL ; her grandchildren; Tony Batson, Jamie Swearingen, Jenna Swearingen, Jorden Walters and Gabby Walters;a brother, Ralph Whetsell of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Louise Klimowicz of Hanahan, SC and Barbara Davis of Ravenal, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, George William Walters, Jr., five brothers, Johnny, David, Clyde, Mack and William Whetsell and two sisters, Myrtle Arnold and Margret Whetsell. She grew up in the Charleston, SC area and later moved to the Abingdon, IL area in the 1960's. She worked at the Admiral Factory in Galesburg until she was disabled due to a car accident in 1973. She was a member of the Hermon Baptist Church. She loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 pm led by Mrs. Eleanor Landon. Additional services will be held at the J. Henry Sturh Inc. North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC. at 11:00 am Friday, May 23, 2008 with visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday. Memorials may be made to Saunders Clinic, 1800 23rd Ave., Avon, IL 61415.
