Wanda Newingham Obituary

Wanda L. Newingham, 62, of Galesburg, died at 4:18 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1958, in Taylorville, Illinois, the daughter of Gerald and Kathleen (Price) Newingham.

She is survived by two sisters, Vickie (Michael) Cleer of Galesburg and Isabelle Newingham of Jacksonville, Illinois; a brother, Joseph (Melissa) Newingham of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kathy Summers; two brothers, Gerald and Billy Newingham; and her long-time companion, Ira.

Wanda had an adventurous spirit that took her many places over the years before settling in Galesburg. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and lottery tickets.

Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
