William Reeder Obituary

William Clark Reeder died on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Harvey, Illinois. Bill was born in Bloomington, Illinois on December 24, 1946, and was the son of Charles W. and Irene C. (Bulkeley) Reeder.

A lifelong resident of Abingdon, Bill graduated from Abingdon High School in 1965. After graduation, he worked at American Sanitary Manufacturing Company and liked to tell the story of falling through the roof of The Brass Factory without serious injury. Joining the Army in 1968, Bill served as a firefighter in Alaska. After returning to Abingdon, he was a dispatcher for the Abingdon Police Department. For the past several years Bill was a house painter as well as assisting in antique auctions for Dan Boyer.

Bill's life-long interest in antiques began when he was ten years old and acquired an Edison Dictaphone. He owned several antique cars beginning with a 1926 Ford Model T which he drove through high school.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister Cynthia Reeder Knowles and his twin brother Robert C. Reeder, both of Galesburg.

Bill’s wishes were to be cremated. There are no services scheduled.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
