88, 302 N. Cherry St. died at 12:03 am Sunday, March 16 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. He was born on February 12, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William H. and Martha Wilson Reimer, Sr. He married Maxine L. Cooper on May 23, 1941 in Lyons, Iowa. She survives. He is also survived by a son, William "Bill" H. (and Starr) Reimer III of Austin, TX; a grandson, William "Will" H. Reimer, IV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Jane Kramer. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1937 and later attended Indiana Tech. He worked at the Brass Factory in Abingdon and later at Gale Products in Galesburg as a tool and die maker for 36 years retiring in May of 1983. He served in the Army during WW II, serving in the 1st Division, 16th infantry. He was a member of Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a board member of the Gale Credit Union in Galesburg and served as served as Chairman of the Board for ten years. Graveside service with military rites will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #381.
