Wilma F. Butterfield

86 of Macomb and formerly of Abingdon died at 11:00 am Sunday, January 27, 2008 at The Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. She had lived in Macomb since 1992. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 30 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, 206 N. Washington St., Abingdon. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. She was born on July 31, 1921 in rural Camden, Schuyler County, IL to Edd and Helen Hume Royer. She married Carrol W. Butterfield on March 1, 1941 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1986. Wilma had lived most of her life in Abingdon. She worked in Abingdon at the Blue Bell Company before her marriage and then from 1953 until it closed. She then worked for Fey's Processing until her retirement. Wilma was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Ed and Sharon of Rock Island, IL, Mel and Brenda of Quincy, IL, Bill and Zennie of Salt Lake City, IT, Cliff of Aniwa, WI and Chuck and Janice of Colchester, IL; two brothers and their wives, Kermit and Delores of Groveland, IL and Larry and Diana of Numa, IA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by her parents and a brother, Richard and a daughter-in-law, Janet. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, The Elms Nursing Home, McDonough District Hospital Hospice Care or a charity of the donor's choice.
