Zelma Logan Obituary

89 of Galesburg and formerly of RR Abingdon died at 4:20 am Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg. She was born on February 3, 1916 near Rapatee, IL to Peter and Leona Davis Martin. She married Boyd B. Logan on November 5, 1938 in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2000. Surviving are one daughter, Rochelle (and Len) Eberle of Galesburg; two sons, Gordon (and Nancy) Logan of Mission, TX and Rollan (and Kathy) Logan of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Charlotte Thompson of South Bend, IN; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Sidney Poole, one brother Claude Martin and one sister Christine Cook. She helped her husband farm in Indian Point Township, southeast of Abingdon for 60 years prior to moving to Galesburg in 2000. She was a homemaker. She attended the Abingdon Christian Church. She was a member of the Indian Point Card Club and was a former county secretary for the National Farm Organization. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday at the Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church or Abingdon First Responders.
