Mrs. Betty L. (Hainline) Garrett

Mrs. Betty L. Garrett, 88, of Gerlaw, Illinois died 2:02 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at her home.  

She was born January 25, 1929 in Galesburg to Lawrence and Frances Peve Hainline.  She married Billie R. Garrett December 3, 1955 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death January 29, 1994. 

Surviving are two sons, Howard (and Chris) Garrett of Monmouth, Illinois and Daniel (and Irma) Garrett of Gerlaw, Illinois, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jeffrey, her daughter, Marjorie four brothers and two sisters. 

Betty was a homemaker.  She lived in Galva, Galesburg and Gerlaw, Illinois.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Galesburg.  She loved her dog, Sadie and spending time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed sewing. 

Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Gerlaw Cemetery, Gerlaw, Illinois.  Bishop Todd Hendrickson will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be made to Knox County Humane Society.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
