Virginia K. Hosler, 93, of Galesburg, formerly of Warrenville, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

She was born March 1, 1924, in Oak Park, the youngest child of Herman and Emmy (Mittelstaedt) Kluessner.  She married Warren R. Hosler on February 7, 1953 in Forest Park.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 2000 after his battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

She is survived by a daughter, Hillary (Ted) Hoffman of Galesburg; six grandchildren, Andrew Elders, Nicholas Elders, Heather (Steve) Cecala, Jason Welch, Amy (Tara) Hoffman, and Thad (Hilary) Hoffman; and two great grandchildren, Ian Welch and Senan Hunsucker-Hoffman.  In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy L. Welch in 2006; and three siblings, William, Lucille, and Norman.

Virginia graduated from Proviso West High School in 1942.  She worked as assistant office manager at Suburban Buick in Wheaton for 10 years.  She was of Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wheaton.  After moving to Galesburg, she transferred her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church.  Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling with Warren.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Additional visitation and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton, followed by burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park.  Galesburg friends may make memorial contributions in her name to Hospice Compassus or Trinity Lutheran Church.  In Wheaton, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
