USAF Retired Lt. Col. Dale Elden Ludwick

USAF Retired Lt. Col. Dale Elden Ludwick, 70 of Abingdon, was pronounced deceased at his home at 4:40 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017.

He was born July 14, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Wilbur and Grace Ansteadt Ludwick. He graduated from high school in Georgetown, Ohio and later graduated from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio with a degree in Economics.  H served in the United States Air Force for several years, retiring in 1992.  In 2000, he married Rebecca “Beckey” Roberson at the Nellis AFB Chapel.  Soon after, they moved to the Galesburg area before settling in Abingdon. Rebecca preceded him in death on August 21, 2016.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.  He was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381.  He was of the Christian faith.

Dale is survived by two sons, Eric (Brittney) Ludwick of LasVegas, Nevada and Ryan (Joanie) Ludwick of Georgetown, Texas; and 6 grandchildren, Tait, Chase, Knox, Kenna, Stesen and Brantley.  He also was a good grandfather to Rebecca’s sons’ children, Kirsten, Kaitlyn and Keira Tipton and great-grandfather to Lydia and Sammi.

As he requested, cremation will be accorded and no services will be held.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements for cremation and announcements.
