Mr. Robert J. Campbell, Galesburg Chapel

Robert was born on August 24, 1926 in Galesburg, Ill. to Earl and Katherine Campbell. He married Linda Campbell in Galesburg in November 3, 1967. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Sean Campbell of Phnom Penh, Cambodia; a daughter, Shannon Campbell of Fort Worth; and a grandson, Dillian Campbell of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. A daughter, Katherine Campbell, also preceded him in death in 1991.
He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 47 years, retiring as an engineer. Robert was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg. He served four years in the US Navy. Following that He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill.
He was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs and Notre Dame fan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Corpus Christi Church and St. Joesph’s Catholic Church in Fort Worth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. William Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00AM to 10:30AM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Railroad Museum or the National Railroad Hall of Fame. Online condolences may be left at
