Mrs. Ruth Anne LaGrow, 80, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Galesburg, died 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs. She was born September 25, 1937 in Victoria, Illinois to Otto Le Roy and Edna Holmes Weedman. She married Marvin Alexander LaGrow, Sr. July 7, 1956 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death January 5, 2014. Surviving are two sons, Marvin Alexander "Toby", Jr. (and Linda) LaGrow of Scottsboro, Alabama and John Virgil (and Shelley) LaGrow of Magnolia, Texas, a daughter, Shirley Anne (and Michael) Jelmo of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a grandson, Dayton Thomas LaGrow of Magnolia, Texas, two granddaughters, Michaella Anne (and Levi) Howell of Colorado Springs and Alexandra Mari Jelmo (and Derek) of Colorado Springs, a great grandson, Michael Kenneth Howell, a great granddaughter, Grace Anne Howell and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Herbert "Bud" Weedman, Edward Weedman, and David Weedman and two sisters, Shirley Weedman and Inez Tuthill. Ruth Anne graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956. She worked as a car hop at Virginia's Ice Cream in East Galesburg, Illinois from 1954 to 1955, on the paint line for Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division in Galesburg in Galesburg from 1956 to 1959 and was a school bus driver for Eden Prairie School District from 1968 to 1980. She then was a nurse's aide at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville from 1980 to 2003. She later moved to Colorado Springs and worked in customer service at Target from 2007 to 2015. She was the shining example of love, kindness, and everlasting friendship. The warm loving impression she left on so many people will never be forgotten. She was a Mom, a Grandmother, an Aunt, and a friend to all she met. The Lord has now called her home. We all so love you Ruth Anne. Cremation was accorded. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. John Carlson will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. She will be buried with her beloved dog, Yeager on the family plot in Victoria Cemetery, Victoria, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
