Mr. Huston E. Brown Jr.
July 22, 1935 ~ December 10, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years OldHuston E. Brown Jr., 82, of Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, died at 9:54 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1935, in Galesburg, the son of Huston E. and Mary Lear (Milburn) Brown Sr.
He is survived by a brother, Bernard Haliburton of East Moline; a sister, Nona Haliburton of Laguna Niguel, California; and cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents three brothers, Michael Haliburton, Tommy Haliburton, and James Lee Brown; and a sister, Faye Haliburton Kimmins.
Huston was a butcher in Moline, and then worked at Butler Manufacturing Company and McCabe Scrap Metal, both in Galesburg. He was of the Baptist faith.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959. In May of 2017, he was able to take the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Huston was a very patriotic man. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jim Ecklund will officiate and military honors will be provided by the VFW 2257/Legion 285 Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no visitation.
